Asher H. Taban, M.D

Dr. Asher Taban is the Medical Director of the Neuroscience Institute at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Known as the “Doctor’s Doctor,” many physicians choose him when they or a loved one are in need of brain or spine surgery. He is a graduate of the Residency Program at New York University (NYU), one of the top and most competitive in the United States. He established the Neuro Trauma Program at Northridge Hospital in June of 1984 and served as Director until July of 2009. He was the Director of the Neuroscience Program from 2005-2015. Dr. Taban completed special gamma knife training by world renowned physicians at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the site of the first gamma knife unit in North America and the location of over 8,000 such treatments.

Dr. Taban specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of minimally invasive and complex state−of−the art spinal surgeries, complex brain tumors, aneurysms, trigeminal neuralgia, hydrocephalus, vascular surgeries, ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel decompression, and Chiari malformation. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has performed over 10,000 Neurological and Spinal Surgeries in his career. He is at the forefront of his field, utilizing state of the art technology in treating patients with brain and spinal column disorders.
